Frequently Asked Questions
  • What kind of food do you recommend for our pets?
  • There are two types of food we recommend: Eukanuba for small breeds or Royal Canine.
  • How many times should my puppy eat in a day? How do I measure the serving?
  • The puppies should eat twice a day, measure the portion to be the size of a medium coffee cup.
  • How to I toilet train my puppy?
  • Be prepared to have a pad on a corner moistened with water, so the puppy can smell his “wet spot”. By doing this, your pup will be aware that this is the place where he has to do his necessities.
  • What kind of shampoo is best to use for Bulldogs?
  • Oatmeal shampoo and baby pads are great to keep the puppy clean and happy.
  • How do I train my dog to get used to drinking from his own water container? I do not want him stepping on it and getting the water all dirty.
  • Try to get a container of water for him for the first month. While he is a puppy, he will learn fast that this container is his source of fluids. He will not be stepping in it and will avoid ingesting contaminated water.
  • What supplements do you suggest I give my Bulldog?
  • Supplements like Nutri Start, Calcium and vitamins should be used to keep the puppy with high levels of energy and to help him build a strong structure and bones.
  • How often should I deworm my puppy? How much should I give him?
  • De-worming should be provided during the first 6 months. It should be done every 15 days. You should follow the quantity given by the vet or follow the instructions from where you purchased the dewormer. This dose is usually 2.5 mlm every 5 kilograms, but be sure to read the instructions because they also differ.
  • How do I avoid my puppy from getting sick?
  • Try to keep the puppy away from the cold for at least until he is six months of age. Because they have such a small noses, the air gets too cold in their lungs and they will develop a runny nose – this will serve as a warning to keep your puppy warmer or else they will get sick.
  • If my dog develops a cold, what should I do to make him feel better?
  • Use steam baths with a cover on top of the cage, so they are able to inhale all the steam. Bulldogs absolutely love this! It relaxes them. You can buy the steamers at any pharmacy with the steam solution. This is particularly useful if they are coughing. Leave them for one hour, each in the morning and at night. If you don’t see any positive results, visit your vet and combine the antibiotics prescribed with this steaming technique. It will bring you great results.
